Bio Karel


Karel Dejaeger graduated in 2009 as business engineer at the Department of Decision Sciences and Information Management at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Currently employed as a doctoral researcher, his research entails the following subjects:

  • Software effort estimation
  • Custormer churn prediction
  • Regression rule extraction techniques
  • Credit scoring
  • Data quality improvement in a data mining context
  • Social network analysis

Additionally, Karel Dejaeger also tudors excercise sessions concerning database management and SQL (Structured Query Language) and provides guidance to master thesis students. His findings have been published in well known international journals including Decision Support Systems and IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering; his research was also presented last year on several international conferences including Euro Lissbon 2010, ICEBI2010 and ICIQ 2010. He is also coauthor of the finacial data quality questionnaire adopted by a major financial institution, which can be obtained on simple request. He is also webadministrator/webdesigner of several websites including dataminingapps.com.
