Aimée Backiel received her BA in Mathematics from the University of Southern Maine in the USA. After working in Academic Assessment, she came to Belgium and earned her M.Sc. in Information Management from KU Leuven. Her work as a PhD Researcher began in September 2012. Her research is focused on Survival Analysis, investigating its application in different domains and the incorporation of other techniques into the survival analysis models. Outside of work, Aimée enjoys reading and playing tennis.
